About AONK : Smart Donations for a Better Qatar
Aonk was built on a simple observation: in one of the world's busiest cities, the hardest part of donating is finding the time to do it. The app was designed to solve exactly that.
How the idea began
Qatar is a city of busy dates and a non-stop rhythm. In such an environment, the intention to donate is rarely a problem. The time and effort required to do it is what usually gets in the way.
Donation boxes are located in and around Doha. But getting to it means loading the car, finding a parking lot, walking with heavy bags, and sometimes arriving to find the box fullfamily.
runs a business, children and the rhythm of everyday life in Qatar, this sequence of steps is enough to postpone the donation indefinitely. The items stay at home, and eventually they are thrown away, not because the owner did not want to donate, but because the operation asked him for more than he could give at that moment.
Help you reverse this equation. Instead of the donor coming to the collection point, the collection point comes to the donor. Enter your name and phone number in the application, choose the type of your donation, and the team will call you or message you on WhatsApp to arrange the receipt directly from your door.
The whole process takes no more than a minute. No lengthy registration, No car trip, no search for a box. Enter your data, a call from the team, one of its members is at your door. This simplicity is the essence of the idea of AONK. The easiest version of a good deed is the one that people actually do.
Our mission
Giving every home in Qatar a quick, free and meaningful way to donate unused items. By connecting donors directly to QRCS through a free door-to-door pickup service, we turn good intentions into a real impact, one receipt after another.
Our vision
Qatar is sustainable, in which good things do not go to landfills, and donation is a natural part of home management, not a seasonal event. A more generous and sustainable society is built from the simplest everyday decisions.
What Aonk Stands For
Aonk is built on a straightforward belief: things have more than one useful life.
.
Qatar has one of the highest per capita waste generation rates in the world. A significant share of what gets thrown away every year consists of items that are still perfectly usable: clothes that no longer fit, household goods that have been replaced, toys that children have simply grown past. These items are not waste. They are resources in the wrong place.
When Aonk collects those items and routes them to families in need through the Qatar Red Crescent, three things happen at once:
The donor clears space and follows through on a genuine intention to give
A family in need receives something real and immediately useful
The item stays in circulation instead of contributing to Qatar's landfill challenge
Qatar National Vision 2030
sets environmental development as one of its main pillars, with a national target of reaching a 95% recycling rate by 2030. Choosing to donate rather than waste is the individual's contribution to this national goal. Each bag donated with your help is a small, tangible step in the right direction.
No one is required to give money or volunteer their time. It is only required to allow one of the team members to come to collect what the donor would have disposed of anyway.
When Giving Becomes a Habit
One of the things Aonk is genuinely working toward is making regular donation a normal part of how households in Qatar manage their space. Not an annual event tied to Ramadan or a special occasion, but an ongoing habit that happens whenever a bag worth donating has accumulated.
The barrier to that kind of regularity has always been the effort involved. When donating requires planning and a trip across the city, it stays occasional. When it takes under a minute from your front door, it can become something people do four or five times a year without thinking twice.
That shift compounds. A household that donates regularly puts significantly more usable goods back into the community than one that donates once. Across thousands of households in Doha and beyond, that behavioral change adds up to something the Qatar Red Crescent can work with at a meaningful scale.
Spend in the way of God and do not contribute to your own destruction. Act with excellence, for God loves those who do.
The instruction is not to wait for the right moment or the right amount. It is to give consistently, from what you have. Aonk does not make you more generous. It simply removes the reasons that were getting in the way of the generosity you already have.
